  • The 22nd National Conference for E-Governance is held in Meghalaya . Meghalaya CM Conrad K Sangma did an Opening of Conference . Dr Jitendra Singh was also present . 28 states and Union Territories joined Conference .
  • along with it , senior govt officers , researchers were present for Conference . Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India organised 2 days Conference.

FAME Scheme for electric buses

  • under the FAME yojana , Government has approved 5595 electric buses for cities . The goal of FAME is to emphasize electric vehicles as soon as possible so that electric and hybrid vehicles can be adopted.

  • India and Bangladesh has decided to make committee to use water resources according to 1996’s Ganga Water Sharing Treaty . under new agreement , both india and Bangladesh will make a framework for eight rivers.

  • Bangladesh has given identity cards to more than 0.5 million Rohingya which are issued by UNHCR. all Rohingya whose age is more than 12 years , has been given bio-metric cards by authorities and UNHCR .
  • in bio-matric system , fingerprints ,iris scaning are used to make identity secure.

reduction in MCLRs rate by IDBI and Bank of Maharashtra

  • IDBI and Bank of Maharastra has reduced MCLR (marginal cost of funds based lending ) rates by 5-15 bps .
  • RBI has cut Repo Rate to 5.40% which was 5.75% . new MCLR rates are 8.30% for 3 months , for 6 months 8.40% and 8.50% .

  • South African batsman Hashim Amla has taken retirement from cricket . he played 349 matchs including all formats of Cricket .

Indian Archery Association suspended

  • World Archery suspended AAI because AAI did not follow Guidelines . however , Indian archers are allowed to participate World Archery Youth Championships 2019 . which will start from 19 August in Madrid .
