Greenpeace Day – September 15, 2023 – Every year, Greenpeace Day is observed on September 15, aimed at bringing about a change in the way we treat our environment. The day aims to improve the air that we breathe, reduce the dependency on fossil fuels, avoid the usage of plastic, and improve the water quality.
Greenpeace Day – History
Greenpeace Day highlights the day the organization was founded on September 15 in the year 1971. 17 activists were sailing on the Phyllis Cormack to try and stop the nuclear testing which was to be held on the shores of Alaska. The Mayor of Vancouver, Gregor Robertson, proclaimed September 15 as Greenpeace Day in honour of Greenpeace in 2011.
