January 1 or 1 January is the first day of the year in the Gregorian Calendar. This day is also called New Year’s Day since the day marks the beginning of the year.

Z Day is marked every January 1. It is a mysterious day and when we reverse the alphabetical order, those whose names start with the letter Z come first in all matters of alphabet sequence. It is called last on the register because it starts with Z. Around 300 B.C., the letter Z was removed from the alphabet due to being useless.
World Day of Peace – January 1, 2024
Every year, World Day of Peace is celebrated on January 1. The day is primarily a Catholic feast day dedicated to universal peace on the Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God. Pope Paul VI founded it in 1967, inspired by the encyclical Pacem in Terris of Pope John XXIII and regarding his own encyclical Populorum Progressio. On 1 January 1968, The day was first observed.
