8th India International Silk Fair
On 31 January 2021, Smriti Irani has made inauguration of 8th edition of International Silk Fair on Virtual Portal.
- It will be the biggest silk fair of India Where over 200 overseas buyers and representatives are being the part of this Fair with 100 renowned and big Indian companies.
- it will run for five days.
Uttarakhand established Botanical Garden
Nainital (Uttarakhand) has set up a botanical garden called ‘Shivalik Arboretum’. it aims to conserve more than 210 species of trees which are in the Shivalik range of Himalayas.
- The main purpose of Shivalik Arboretum Garden is to create awareness among people regarding nature and to make people emotional connect with the trees.

Rama Mohan Rao Amara as MD and CEO of SBI Card
Rama Mohan Rao Amara is elected as new MD and CEO SBI Cards and Payment Services Ltd (SBI Card).
- His appointment will be for a period of two years and will start serving from 30th January 2021.
- Moreover, he will take place of Ashwini Kumar Tewari. Ashwini is elected as the Managing Director of State Bank of India (SBI).
Henry Moniz as 1st Chief Compliance Officer of Facebook
Henry Moniz has been elected as 1st ever Chief Compliance Officer. his appointment was announced by Facebook Inc.
- Moniz will start serving as Chief Compliance Officer from 8th February 2021 and will be the head of Facebook global compliance team.
- his roles are risk management and promotion of highest standards of legal and ethical conduct at the company.
Nguyen Phu Trong as Communist Party of Vietnam Chief
76 years old Mr Nguyen Phu Trong has been appointed as Chief of ruling Community Party of Vietnam. he will serve for a 3rd term.

India earned 11 medals at first Asian Online Shooting Championship
During the 1st-ever Asian Online Shooting Championship, India is at the top with 11 medals and the Championship was held by Kuwait Shooting Federation.
- In the shooting, India achieved 11 medals in total including four gold medals, two silver and five bronze medals.

Tamil Nadu won Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy
On 30 January 2021, Tamil Nadu defeats Baroda by 7 wickets in the final and became the winner of the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy 2020-21.
- The Final match was played at Sardar Patel Stadium (Motera Stadium), Ahmedabad and this tournament was 25th Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
- Dinesh Karthik as leading Tamil Nadu team as Skipper.
- In the Final match, Tamil Nadu was given a target of 121 runs and they achieved the target in just 18 overs with 7 wickets.
- This was the nd time when Tamil Nadu clinched Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) title. before it, the team won SMAT title in 2006-07.
