The American Legion Department of Maine Foundation is dedicated to philanthropic purposes, which include providing donations to exempt organizations. It offers resources to programs and services to improve the lives of veterans, their families, children, and communities in Maine.
The Maine Legion Foundation’s Children and Youth Scholarships include financial assistance of up to $500 to young men and women who are residents of Maine and are looking to advance their education.

Eligibility Criteria
Follow the Eligibility Criteria to apply for the program.
Must be young men and women who are residents of Maine who want to advance their education.
Application Process
Must provide three letters with this application:
- One from yourself stating why you wish for a scholarship and what field you want to work in after college.
- One from your principal or guidance counselor (other sources if you are no longer in high school).
- One from an outside person, other than family. (These may be copies of letters used for other scholarships.)
Also, include a transcript of your high school record or current college transcript.
