Union Cabinet approves Rs 1500 cr infusion in IREDA
Centre has decided to infuse Rs 1,500 crore in the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA).
- the infusion of Rs 1,500 crore will enable IREDA to lend Rs 12,000 crore to the renewable sector.
- It will also help IREDA in creating renewable energy capacity of 3,500 to 4,000 MW.

SEBI launches Saa₹thi mobile app for investor education
Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has launched a new mobile app named “Saa₹thi” on investor education in Mumbai. the main aim of the “Saa₹thi” (R is denoted as the Indian Rupee (INR) symbol) mobile app is to create awareness among investors about the basic concepts of the securities market.
- the app SaaRthi will also explain regarding KYC process, trading and settlement, mutual funds (MF), recent market developments, investor grievances redressal mechanism, and so on.
- The SEBI Saa₹thi mobile app will be available in Hindi and English language and users can downloadAndroid and iOS versions of the App from Play Store and App Store respectively.
- the app would be available in regional languages soon.

Microsoft will buy game making company, Activision Blizzard Inc for nearly $70 billion in order to boost its competitiveness in mobile gaming and virtual-reality technology.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has decided to appoint lAS officer Vikram Dev Dutt as Air India’s new Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). Vikram Dev Dutt was elected as the Air India chief in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary.
- Dutt is a 1993-batch IAS officer of AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territory) cadre.
- He is serving as Principal Secretary (Tourism) in Delhi government.

- MK Prasad played an important role in the ‘Save Silent Valley’ campaign in the state in the 1970s.
- ‘Save Silent Valley’ campaign was started to protect a forest ecosystem in the State and was considered as the first popular campaign.
