Remember the Victims Prevent Genocide 2021 – Every year, The International Day of Commemoration and Dignity of the Victims of the Crime of Genocide and of the Prevention of this Crime is observed on 9th December.
- The main objective of this day is to raise awareness of the Genocide Convention and its role in combating and preventing the crime of genocide, as defined in the Convention.
- This day also commemorates and honours its victims.

- The day of 9th December marks the International Day of Commemoration and Dignity of the Victims of the Crime of Genocide and of the Prevention of this Crime.
- It is also the 73rd anniversary of the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (the “Genocide Convention”), which was the first human rights treaty adopted by the General Assembly.
