Minister Bhupender Yadav launches new features on eShram portal – Labour and Employment Minister Bhupender Yadav launched new features on the eShram portal. the new features will help in enhancing its utility for unorganised workers in New Delhi. The portal will now enable them to connect with employment opportunities, skilling, apprenticeships, pension schemes, digital skilling and states’ schemes.

- Also, the centre launched a Data Sharing Portal for sharing eShram data with state and union territory governments.
- A new feature that captures the family details of migrant workers has also been added to provide access to child education and women-centric schemes for those who have migrated with family.
- It will now share data of construction workers registered on eShram with the respective Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board to ensure they have access to relevant schemes.

About eShram Portal
- Ministry of Labour & Employment has developed an eShram portal for creating a National Database of Unorganized Workers (NDUW), which will be seeded with Aadhaar.
- The eShram portal will contain details of name, occupation, address, occupation type, educational qualification, skill types etc.
- For the optimum realization of their employability and extend the benefits of the social security schemes to them.
- It is the first-ever national database of unorganised workers including migrant workers, construction workers, gig and platform workers, etc.
