Advocates for African Americans Carolinas Scholarship is a Duke Energy employee resource group of African American employees. It provides scholarships to college-bound students from North and South Carolina who are pursuing a major in engineering, computer science, the sciences, accounting, finance or business administration.

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a graduating senior at a North or South Carolina high school.
- Must have a 3.5 minimum GPA.
- Must attend full-time at a four-year college or university located in North or South Carolina.
- Must enroll in engineering, computer science, the sciences, accounting, finance, or business administration.
- Must be an American citizen and a member of a race/ethnic category typically considered “people of color.”
- Finalists must agree to an interview with the scholarship selection committee.
- Race/Ethnicity – Alaskan Native, Asian American, Black, Hispanic, Native American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander
