IREDA launches ‘whistle blower’ portal to check fraud, abuse of power

Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) has launched a ‘Whistle-blower Portal’, as a part of ‘Vigilance Awareness Week 2021’.

  • The employees of IREDA can submit their concerns related to fraud, corruption, abuse of power, and so on.
  • Whistle-blower portal will work a part of a IREDA’s “zero tolerance” of corruption.
  • All raised queries will help employees to work as ambassador of CVC to fight against corruption.

EdelGive Hurun India Philanthropy List 2021: Azim Premji retains ‘India’s most generous’ tag

Hurun India and EdelGive have released the 8th EdelGive Hurun India Philanthropy List 2021. as per the list, Indian business tycoon and 76 years old Azim Premji has retained the top spot on the EdelGive Hurun India Philanthropy List 2021 with the donation of Rs 9,713 crore in FY21

  • Followed by the founder and chairman of HCL Technologies Shiv Nadar and Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani have got the 2nd and 3rd spot with an annual donation of Rs 1,263 crore and Rs 577 crore respectively.

Ministry of Rural Development signs MoU with Flipkart

The Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with India’s homegrown e-commerce marketplace Flipkart for the ambitious Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM) program.

  • The main purpose of this partnership is to empower local businesses and self-help groups (SHGs) – especially those that are led by women – by bringing them into the e-commerce fold.
  • It will focus on the strengthening the capabilities of rural communities for self-employment and entrepreneurship.

CCI approves HDFC Life’s acquisition of Exide Life

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has given its approval for HDFC Life’s acquisition of Exide Life, HDFC Life Insurance Company will get acquisition a 100% shareholding in Exide Life Insurance Co Ltd.

  • The Deal was signed for ₹6,687 crore. in which, HDFC Life is to pay ₹725.98 crore in cash and left money will pay by issuing 87 million shares at ₹685 apiece to Exide Industries.
  • It will focus smaller towns, will act complementing its market footprint.
  • It will have an access to a wider market.

Indian Railways and Truecaller join hands to build trust in communication for passengers

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has made a partnership with caller identification platform Truecaller. as per the partnership, Truecaller will help in verifying and identifying calls, which will reduce fraud by assuring people that critical communication like your booking details & PNR status are being delivered by IRCTC.

  • The Truecaller will show the 139 Helpline with a green verified business badge logo in an effort to reduce fraudulent activities.
  • Poeple will see a verified SMS message headers that will highlight that customers are calling for receiving the communication about their bookings and other travel details from IRCTC only.
