Tamil Nadu Government launched “Pudhumai Penn Scheme” for girl students

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Shri M.K. Stalin launched the Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Higher Education Assurance scheme called ‘Pudhumai Penn’ during a function in Chennai. while launching, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was also present. Delhi CM Kejriwal also revealed 26 schools of excellence and 15 model schools set up by the Tamil Nadu government emulating the model by his AAP government in Delhi.

Pudhumai Penn Scheme:

  • girl students, who studied from Class V to Class XII in state government schools will be given monthly assistance of Rs 1,000 till they complete their graduation or diploma under the Pudhumai Penn scheme.
  • Pudhumai Penn Scheme will benefit over 6,00,000 girls every year and Rs 698 crore has been allocated in the budget for its implementation.
