SBI launches video life certificate service for pensioners

The State Bank of India (SBI) has launched a video life certificate service for pensioners which allows pensioners to submit their life certificates through a simple video call. it will be completely paperless and free of cost.

  • A life certificate will be required for pensioners in order to determine if the pension holder is to receive the pension is still alive and they continue to receive their pension without any problem.
  • Senior citizens will now require to visit government offices and present themselves physically to receive the pension.

  • Pensioners can submit life certificates by November 30th, 2021 and the window to submit their proof of being alive was opened for pensioners above 80 on October 1st, 2021. process for both categories will be closed on November 30th, 2021.

How to avail SBI’s video life certificate service:

  • First of all, Visit the website @www.pensionseva.sbi
  • Select Video LCto start the video life certificate submission process
  • You will be asked to fill in the SBI pension account number and Captcha.
  • You will get the OTP on your registered mobile number, fill in and click on ‘Submit’
  • A new page will be displayed, and click on the ‘Start Journey’ option and then click on the ‘I Am Ready’ option
  • Now, an SBI official will interact with the applicant through a service of video call.
  • Submit the 4-digit verification number
  • The SBI officials will capture your photo with your PAN card and complete the process of life certificate submission process.

  • In some cases, the video life certificate can be rejected and the applicant will get the details via SMS. if a video life certificate is rejected.
  • In that case, pension holders will have to visit a bank branch to submit a life certificate.
