The Rocky Mountain Mining Institute (RMMI) was established in 1912, and aimed at promoting mining through education. The RMMI Engineering Scholarship is offered to mining students to further their education. The scholarship includes worth up to $5,000 over three years ($2,000 for the initial application, $2,000 for the first renewal, and $1,000 for the second renewal).

Eligibility Criteria
Follow the requirements for applying for the Program:
- Must have enrolled full-time in a four-year degree program and good standing at the time of selection;
- Must be enrolled and attending a college or university as a full-time student
- Must be both a U.S. citizen and a legal resident of one of the following states – Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, or Wyoming;
- Must be pursuing a degree in a mining-related field or in the engineering disciplines such as mining, geology, mineral processing, metallurgy, electrical, mechanical, and environmental; and,
- Must maintain an expressed interest in mining as a career path.
