International Anti-Corruption Day 2023: History

On October 31, 2003, The United Nations General Assembly adopted the United Nations Convention against Corruption. It also appointed the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) as its secretariat. The resolution designated December 9 as International Anti-Corruption Day, aimed at raising awareness about corruption and emphasising the Convention’s role in preventing and combating it.
