India signed Euro 442.26 mn loan German Bank for Surat Metro Rail Project – Indian Govt has signed a 26 million euros loan agreement with Germany Development Bank for a 40.35 km Surat Metro Rail project in Gujarat.
- 40.35 km Surat Metro Rail project will have an outlay of Euro 1.50 billion in which Germany Development Bank will provide financial help of Euro 442.26 million.
- The project will help in reducing traffic congestion and long delays on major travel corridors in Surat city and urban area.
Surat Metro project
- The 40.35 km Surat Metro project will strengthen the transport infrastructure of the urban part of Surat including two corridors in which corridor-1 will be 21.61 km long and will be built from Sarthana to Dream City and Corridor-2 will be 18.74 km long and will be built from Bhesan to Saroli.
- Apart from this, it will have an integrated multi-modal transport system that will provide first and last-mile connectivity and improved access to the metro system
