First meeting of G20 Development Working Group under India’s Presidency to begin in Mumbai

On 13th December 2022, The meeting of the G20 Development Working Group (DWG) will be held in Mumbai under India’s Presidency. G20 Development Working Group (DWG) will be to share India’s Human-Centric Sustainable Development Goal Story and Citizen-centric governance. the meeting will also focus on utilizing the power of digital technology and data as key enablers.

  • It will also include the climate agenda by leveraging its interlinkages with the development agenda through lifestyle for Environment.
  • India will enhance the role of the G-20 development working group as the custodian of the development agenda in G-20 during this meeting of DWG.

The first G20 Finance and Central Bank Deputies (FCBD) meeting

  • The first G20 Finance and Central Bank Deputies (FCBD) meeting will be held in Bengaluru. This meeting will mark the start of discussions on the Finance Track agenda under the Indian G20 Presidency, which will be hosted jointly by the Ministry of Finance and the Reserve Bank of India.
  • The 3-day meeting will focus on the agenda for the Finance Track under the Indian G20 Presidency.
  • It covers reorienting international financial institutions to meet the shared global challenges of the 21st century, financing cities of tomorrow, managing global debt vulnerabilities, advancing financial inclusion and productivity gains, and financing for climate action and SDGs.
