India celebrates the 150th birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo, once a renowned revolutionary, who later became a spiritual master. On 13th December 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in a program commemorating Sri Aurobindo’s 150th birth anniversary at 5 PM via video conferencing. Sri Aurobindo’s 150th birth anniversary program will be held in Kamban Kalai Sangam, Puducherry, under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
- PM Modi will also release a commemorative coin and postal stamp in honor of Sri Aurobindo.

- Sri Aurobindo was born on 15th August 1872.
- He was a visionary who made lasting contributions to India’s freedom struggle.
- He was only seven when his Anglophile father sent his three sons to England for their education — Aurobindo studied Classics Tripos at Cambridge.
