National

PM Modi to inaugurate Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam in Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam at Pragati Maidan in Delhi on July 29th, 2023. The Samagam will have 16 sessions with different themes. It will cover Access to quality education and governance, Equitable and Inclusive Education, Issues of Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups, National Institute Ranking Framework, and Internationalisation of Education, among others.

  • Along with it, the Program coincides with the 3rd anniversary of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
  • The two-day program will offer a platform for academics, policymakers, industry representatives, teachers, and students from schools among others, to share their insights and best practices in implementing the NEP 2020.

National Education Policy 3rd Anniversary

In India, The 3rd anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP) is being celebrated on July 29th. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 completes three years of its successful implementation across all the educational institutions in the country. The Govt of India planned to include young children from the age of three to eight in the formal education system.

The National Education Policy of India 2020 (NEP 2020), was started by the Indian Govt led by PM Modi on July 29th, 2020 with the vision of a new education system in India. NEP 2020 took place off the previous National Policy on Education, 1986.

Mines & Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill 2023

The Lok Sabha passed the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2023 on July 28th, 2023. The bill seeks to amend the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, of 1957 which regulates the mining sector. The Bill will have provisions for an exploration license. As per the Bill, the exploration license will be released for 29 minerals which include gold, silver, copper, cobalt, nickel, lead, potash, and rock phosphate.

Lok Sabha passes the National Nursing & Midwifery Commission Bill 2023

The Lok Sabha passed the National Nursing and Midwifery Commission Bill, 2023. The Bill will provide for regulation and maintenance of standards of education and services by nursing and midwifery professionals. The Lok Sabha also passed the National Dental Commission Bill, 2023. The Bill seeks to regulate the profession of dentistry in the country, aimed at providing quality and affordable dental education.

  • The Indian Institutes of Management (Amendment) Bill 2023 was introduced in the House.
  • Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan introduced the Bill.

India and Laos have signed MoUs for five Quick Impact Projects

The Government of India and the Republic of Laos signed MoUs to implement 5 projects for accelerated development in the fields of education, water supply, health, and information technology. The Mous aim is to study in detail the development of bilateral relations. Both nations will work together in promoting cooperation in the economy, development partnership, trade relations, agriculture, education, health, security, and heritage.

India’s Neonicz Software and Liberia’s Telecommunications Corporation (LTC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aimed at strengthening Liberia’s technological advancement and advancing its telecommunications sector. Both join hands to develop Liberia’s technology and telecommunications community through innovative and cutting-edge technology solutions.

Central Government and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have signed a $200 million loan agreement for urban development in Rajasthan

The Indian government and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed a $200 million loan financing agreement that could provide additional financing to Rajasthan’s Secondary Cities High Development Program.

  • It will help in deepening private sector engagement and integrating various innovative and credible solutions to expand basic urban services in the state of Rajasthan.

Kamboj As the Chairman of the 62nd edition of the Social Development Commission.

India’s Permanent Ambassador to the United Nations General Assembly Ruchira Kamboj assumed the post of the 62nd edition hosted by the “Commission for Community Development (CSocD)”. The theme for the conference is “Promoting social justice and social development through social policies, accelerating progress in implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and achieving the overarching goal under the Poverty Eradication Agenda”.

Industrialist Ratan Tata was awarded the ‘Udyog Ratna’ of Maharashtra.

Industry Minister Uday Samant announced that the Maharashtra State Government will confer the ‘Udyog Ratna’ award on the country’s veteran businessman and chairman of the biggest Giant Company Tata Sons, Ratan Tata. The  ‘Udyog Ratna’ is the highest award presented by the state of Maharashtra to businessmen and entrepreneurs for their efforts and contributions to outstanding individuals.

India will be world’s 3rd largest economy by 2027 – SBI latest report

As per the SBI’s latest report, India will be the world’s 3rd largest economy by fiscal year 2027 (2027-28), and on these measures, overtaking Japan and Germany. the states of Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh will cross the mark values of 500 billion dollars in terms of economy.
