India, Maldives hold fourth defence cooperation dialogue in Male

4th Defence Cooperation Dialogue (DCD) was held between India and the Maldives in Male and both reviewed the entire gamut of bilateral defence engagements to increase the complexity of existing exercises. The dialogue was co-chaired by Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane and his Maldivian counterpart, Chief of Defence Force, Maldives National Defence Forces Major General Abdulla Shamaal.

Tamil Nadu Budget 2023

In the 2023-24 budget, Tamil Nadu announced significant investments in education, health, and infrastructure besides fulfilling a key DMK poll promise: INR 1,000 monthly cash assistance for eligible women homemakers. Finance minister Palanivel Thiagarajan announced Rs 1000 cash assistance for “eligible households”. The school education department was allocated Rs 40,299 crore and Rs 6,967 crore are allocated for higher education besides Rs 2,877 crore.

The Central Government and the State Government of Gujarat conducted the ‘Saurashtra Tamil Sangam’ program in Guindy, Chennai. During the event, Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya launched the ‘logo’ and website saurashtra.nitt.edu. The slogan and theme song for the ‘Saurashtra Tamil Sangam’ program were released by Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya. the ‘Saurashtra Tamil Sangam’ program will be held in Gujarat from April 17 to 26 under the ‘Ore Bharatham Unnatha Bharatham’ programme.
