UAE announces Eid Al Fitr will begin on April 21

The committee responsible for sighting the moon in the UAE announced that Eid Al Fitr will occur on Friday, April 21st, 2023. the first day of the tenth month of the Islamic calendar, Shawwal, will also start on the same day. Eid Al Fitr signifies the end of the Islamic month of fasting and the start of the tenth month of Shawwal, according to the Islamic calendar.

Jitgadhi festival in Butwal

The Jitgadhi festival was observed on 20th April in Butwal in the Rupandehi district of Lumbini Province. The festival is celebrated annually to mark the victory over the British government, then East India Company, by the Nepal Army.

  • A Nepal Army led by Colonel Ujir Singh Thapa won the Jitgadhi fort on 7th Baisakh 1872 BS by taking down the British Army.
  • Jitagadhi Fort is spread over an area of 500 square feet, the east-west length of Jeetgarhi is 205 feet and the width is about 55 feet.

Indian Air Force to participate in exercise INIOCHOS-23 in Greece

The Indian Air Force (IAF) will take part in Exercise INIOCHOS-23 in Greece with four Su-30 MKI and two C-17 aircraft. The exercise aims to enhance international cooperation, synergy and interoperability among the participating Air Forces.

  • Exercise INIOCHOS-23 is a multi-national air exercise that will be hosted by the Hellenic Air Force. The exercise will be held at the Andravida Air Base in Greece from April 24, 2023, until May 4, 2023.

Australia announces 17 members squad for World Test Championship final against India & two tests of Ashes Series

Australia Cricket Board announced 17 members squad for the World Test Championship final and the opening two tests of the Ashes series. The World Test Championship final will be held between India & Australia on 7th June at the Oval, England. The 15 members squad for Test Championship will be named on 29th May 2023.

IPL 2023- Delhi Capitals beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 4 wickets in Delhi

Delhi Capitals defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 4 wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi in a rain-affected clash and registered their first win of the season. Kolkata Knight Riders scored 127 all out in the stipulated 20 overs with the help of Jason Roy’s gritty knock of 43 runs and an unbeaten 38 by Andre Russell.

  • Delhi Capitals made 128 for the loss of 6 wickets in 19.2 overs. For Delhi Capitals, skipper David Warner with 57 runs was the highest scorer.
