Every year, World Snow Day is observed on the third Sunday in January. This year, it will take place on 21 January. The day was created by the International Ski Federation (FIS). It aims to increase children’s participation in snow-related sports such as skiing and snowboarding and bring together families for a fun-filled frolic in the snow.
History
In 2012, The first official celebration of World Snow Day was started. It was started as phase two of the International Ski Federation’s campaign ‘Bring Children to the Snow’ (which began in 2007).
