World Frog Day 2024: Date, History, Significance

World Frog Day is celebrated annually on March 20. World Frog Day aims to raise awareness to save these living beings and provide them with a safer environment to survive. Frogs are amphibians and are found both on land and in water. Frogs are considered to be predators. They play an important role in preserving the environment throughout their lives.


In 2014, the first celebration for World Frog Day was held. The day was founded to save the different frog species from extinction. On the earth, over 6000 known frog species have been found. In the last 10 years, around 170 species of frogs have become extinct.
