World Diabetes Day 2022: Theme, History, and Significance – Every Year, World Diabetes Day is celebrated on November 14th across the world. this day also marks the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, who discovered the insulin hormone along with Charles Herbert Best in 1922.

- In 1991, International Diabetes Foundation (IDF) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) established World Diabetes Day in order to raise awareness about growing concerns that escalating health threat posed by the ailment.
- In 2006, the United Nations designated World Diabetes Day officially with the passage of a resolution to this effect.
World Diabetes Day 2022: Theme
- The theme for World Diabetes Day 2022 is “Access to Diabetes Care – If Not Now, When?”, the theme shares a message for diabetes care.
- It also aware people of the diabetes mellitus set of metabolic disorders so that they can benefit from education on disease and treatment, dietary changes, and exercise, with the goal of keeping both short-term and long-term blood glucose levels within acceptable bounds.
