What is Banana Ball? – Banana Ball is a new version of baseball. In order to keep the game shorter and more fast-paced, The rules of typical baseball have been changed. Apart from this, It is made up of choreographed dances, walks on the yellow carpet, and outlandish costumes. it also contains kilts or even stilts in lieu of vibrant yellow uniforms.
How Many Teams Play Banana Ball?
Savannah Bananas and their rival team, the Party Animals play Banana Ball. For this, team authority recruits players and pays them to play. also, there are also games between the Savannah Bananas and other challenger teams.
In 2023, we will see 11 challenger games in the world tour. 3 of the 11 games will be held against members of the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association. The remaining 8 challenger games will be against the teams Trenton Thunder, Florence Y’alls, Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, Florida League All-Stars, Charleston Dirty Birds, Aussie Drop Bears, Staten Island FerryHawks, and the Party Animals.
History of Banana Ball
November 2, 2018 – This was the first time when Banana Ball was tested at Lander University.
June 26, 2020 – The first official match was held at Grayson Stadium where the Savannah Bananas were divided into two teams, yellow and green.
July 21, 2020 – The Party Animals team debuted.
March 11, 2022 – The 2022 World Tour commenced in Savannah, Georgia.
April 14, 2022 – Magean Wolf became the 1st female pitcher to throw in a Bananas game.
May 6, 2022 – The first challenger game was held.
Rules of Banana Ball
Rule 1: Every inning is worth one point
Rule 2: Two-hour time limit on the game
Rule 3: No stepping out of the box
Rule 4: No bunting allowed
Rule 5: Batters can steal first base
Rule 6: No walks will be allowed
Rule 7: No mound visits allowed
Rule 8: If a fan catches a foul ball, it’s an out
Rule 9: Showdown tiebreaker
