Uttarakhand Foundation Day

Uttarakhand Day also called Uttarakhand Diwas, is celebrated as the state foundation day of Indian state Uttarakhand on 9 November every year.

Uttarakhand was established by carving out from Uttar Pradesh. On the occasion of the State Foundation Day, Various programs are held. The main is held at the police line in Dehradun, which will be attended by President Draupadi Murmu.

The state of Uttarakhand was formed as Uttaranchal on 9 November 2000 by the Uttar Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2000. Uttaranchal was renamed Uttarakhand on 1 January 2007.
