On 24th December 2022, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Youth Affairs and Sports, Anurag Singh Thakur inaugurated the National level Kabaddi championship in Udupi in Karnataka to commemorate the birthday of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
- National level Kabaddi championship will be conducted under the floodlights in MGM grounds.
- The winning team will be awarded with the Atal trophy and a prize money of one lakh rupees.
Sports Science Centre in the temple town of Udupi
- Anurag Singh Thakur also inaugurates the Sports Science Centre in the temple town of Udupi.
- It is being built at a cost of two crore rupees.
- It will help in shaping sportspersons’s physical and mental performance.
