National News

Special Rs 75 coin to commemorate new Parliament building

The Ministry of Finance issued a notification to announce a Rs 75 commemorative coin to mark the inauguration of the new Parliament building. The Rs 75 coin will endure the inscription Parliament Complex and the image of the new Parliament building, the ministry stated. The Rs 75 coin will be circular in shape and will have a diameter of 44 millimetres. it will have 200 serrations along its edges. The 35-gram coin will be made from a four-part alloy, comprising 50% silver, 40% copper, 5% nickel and 5% zinc.

  • Below the image of the Parliament Complex 2023 is inscribed to mark the year.
  • One side of the coin will feature the Lion Capital of Ashoka Pillar, with the words “Satyamev Jayate” below it.
  • the word “Bharat” is written in Devanagari script on the left side and “India” in English on the right.
  •  The words “Sansad Sankul” will be written in Devanagari script on the upper periphery and “Parliament Complex” in English on the lower periphery.

Shri Giriraj Singh launches SAMARTH campaign to promote digital transactions at Gram Panchayat Level

Union Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Shri Giriraj Singh launched “SAMARTH ” the ‘Campaign on Promoting Digital Transactions in 50000 Gram Panchayats’ under the Amrit Mahotsav in Lucknow. The Ministry of Rural Development started a “Campaign on Promoting Digital Transactions in 50000 Gram Panchayats” on 1st February 2023 and will continue till 15 August 2023 under the AzadiKaAmritMahotsav.

  • The SAMARTH campaign aims to promote Digital Transactions in rural areas, particularly among women.

Ministry of Minority Affairs supports Development of Unani Medicine System

Ministry of Minority Affairs supported the Central Council of Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM) and National Institute of Unani Medicine (NIUM) Bengaluru, under the Ministry of Ayush, for the promotion and upgradation of Unani Medicine facilities in India. the ministry also approved a grant of Rs. 45.34 Crores under Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK), a centrally sponsored scheme (CSS).

  • It will help in the upgradation of Unani Medicine facilities at Hyderabad, Chennai, Lucknow, Silchar and Bengaluru.

India’s Gravita established a commercial rubber recycling plant in East Africa

Leading recycling company Gravita India Limited launched “Commercial Production and Recycling of Waste Rubber” at East African subsidiary Gravita Tanzania Limited located in Tanzania. The new recycling mill will reduce the company’s production costs, reduce carbon footprint and provide low-cost facilities.

Iran Army Inducts “New Generation Missile”.

Iran launched a new generation Khyber missile with a range of 2,000 km and a 1,500 kg warhead on 25th May 2023. The new generation Khyber missile called “Khyber” is an upgraded version of the “Khorramshahr ballistic missile.

“Bhoto Jatra” festival begins in Nepal

The “Bhoto Jatra” festival is celebrated as a public holiday in the Kathmandu valley of Nepal as a part of the month-long chariot procession of “Rato Machindranath Jatra”. the chariot created entirely of wood without the use of iron nails starts the procession at Pulchok and ends at Jwalakhel.

Russia and Belarus signed an agreement on to allow Russian tactical nuclear weapons to be stationed in Belarus

On 25th May 2023, An agreement was signed between Russia and Belarus to allow Russian tactical nuclear weapons to be stationed in Belarus. The agreement aims to deal with Ukraine and other countries opposed to Russia. Accordingly, Belarus “declared the deployment of small and short-range nuclear weapons”.

Kerala becomes first e-governed state, over 900 services made available on e-sevanam portal

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced that Kerala has become India’s first fully e-governed state. The state has made over 900 services via a single window system, the e-sevanam portal, e-governance will make an impact in building a new face of Kerala. The satte is looking for leveraging technology for the state’s development and to empower people to bridge the digital divide.

ADB, India signs $141.12 mn loan for industrial corridor development in AP

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of India signed a $141.12 million loan agreement, aimed at supporting the development of essential infrastructure, such as roads, water supply systems, and electricity distribution networks, in three industrial clusters located in Andhra Pradesh. It is part of a larger $500 million multi-tranche financing facility (MFF) approved by ADB in 2016.
