PM Modi as Chairman of Somnath Temple Trust Gujarat

On 18th January 2021, The PM Narendra Modi is elected as the new chairman of Somnath Temple trust. the Somnath Temple is located at Prabhas Patan town in Gujarat.

  • After naming, PM Modi will be the 2nd Prime Minister to serve as chairman. prior to this, PM Morarji Desai had served as chairman of Somnath Temple trust.
  • The post was vacant after the Keshubhai Patel’s death, who served as chief minister of Gujarat and also has served as Trust’ chairman between 2004 and 2020.

National Disaster Response Force Raising Day On 19th January

The day of 19th January 2021, is being observed as National Disaster Response Force (NDRF)’s Raising Day. This day was proclaimed on 19th January 2006.

  • NDRF is known as an Indian specialized force constituted and works under the Disaster Management Act, 2005.

The Board of RBL Bank has approved the re-appointment of Vishwavir Ahuja. Vishwavir Ahuja will serve as Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of RBL Bank for a period of 3 years.

  • His appointment will come into effect from 30th June 2021 and will continue serving till 29th June 2024.
  • Moreover, Mr Vishwavir has been working as MD and CEO since 30th June 2010.
  • Prior to this, he has served as the Managing Director and CEO of Bank of America between 2001 and 2009.
