Poshan Pakhwada 2021 observing from 16th to 31st March
The Ministry of Women and Child Development is observing Poshan Pakhwada 2021. the Poshan Pakhwada was started on 16th March 2021 and will end on 31st March 2021.
- it will address nutritional challenges, distribution of 4 saplings of nutrition-rich plants per Anganwadi Centre (AWC) in the Aspirational Districts and it will be held under the supervision of local panchayat and DM/DC by National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB), Ministry of AYUSH.
India as 2nd largest arms importer during 2016-2020
As per the report of Sweden-based think-tank Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), India becomes the 2nd largest arms importer during 2016-2020. however, imports have dropped by 33%.
- SIPRI released its report named “Trends in International Arms Transfers-2020”.
- India’s arms imports have been dropped from both Russia and the US fell during the 5 years period.
- but, arms imports from Israel and France was increased, by 175% and 715% respectively.

Harsh Vardhan as Chairman of Stop TB Partnership Board
The Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan is appointed as the new Chairman of the ‘Stop TB Partnership Board’ for recognizing his contribution to the movement to eliminate Tuberculosis (TB) from the country by the year 2025.

- It is known as an international body that aims to bring nations together in order to combat Tuberculosis (TB).
- in the year 2000, it was founded and it was made necessary to remove TB as a public health problem.
- it has a vision of a TB-free world.
Kuldiep Singh as Chief of Central Reserve Police Force
Kuldiep Singh has been appointed as Director-General of National Security Guard and the Central Reserve Police Force.
- His appointment will be effective till February 29, 2024 i.e. date of his superannuation.
