As per the World Air Quality Report 2020, New Delhi has become the world’s most polluted capital city for the third straight year. the World Air Quality Report has been released by the Swiss organisation, IQAir.

  • As the most polluted city in the world, New Delhi is placed at 10th place.

Govt makes experts committee for Startup India Seed Fund Scheme

The Centre has made an experts advisory committee for the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme. H K Mittal has been appointed as The committee’ Head.

  • The main purpose of this committee is to evaluate and select incubators for allotment of funds under the scheme and will also monitor progress.

What is Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS)

  • Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS) will run a period of four years and will be implemented with effect from 1st April 2021.
  • The Scheme intends to offer financial assistance to startups for proof of concept, prototype development, product trials, market entry and commercialization.
  • The Centre will provide Rs. 945 Crore corpus in the next 4 years.

The former Union minister and BJP leader Dilip Gandhi have taken his last breath at the age of 69. he was suffering from COVID-19.

The Dutch inventor of the cassette tape Mr Lou Ottens has passed away at the age of 94.

  • He founded the cassettes in the year the 1960s. while was employed with tech giant Philips. Following this, it led to the invention of the first reel-to-reel walkman in 1963. 
  • he joined Philips in 1952 and was head of the Dutch company’s product development department.
