The Long Service Medal (Pingat Bakti Setia) – The Long Service Medal was formed in 1962. The recipient of the medal will be one who is of irreproachable character and whom the President is satisfied has completed at least 25 years of service in the service of.

  • In the service of the Government;
  • In the service of any statutory authority (other than a Town Council);
  • In the service of any organisation, association or body rendering services in the field of education;
  • In the service of any company which is wholly owned by the Government and which is carrying on business mainly as an agent or instrumentality of the Government;

The Medal is a silver medal and consists of a multi-lobed disc having, on the obverse side, a circular shield bearing a crescent and 5 stars encircled by a scalloped embellishment.
The reverse side of the Medal holds the State Arms and the name of the Medal.
