St. Lucia National Day – December 13, 2023

Every year, St. Lucia National Day is observed on December 13 in Sweden and Norway. It is named after its patron saint, St. Lucy, and The day marks her life and death. Saint Lucia was formerly known as the Windward Island and was first discovered in the late 15th or early 16th century by the Europeans.

Frenchies first reached this island, named after Saint Lucia. Saint Lucia of Syracuse was a young Christian martyr. She died during the Diocletianic Persecution of Christians in the Roman Empire.
