Singer- Music composer Bappi Lahiri passes away at 69 – Music composer and singer Bappi Lahiri has passed away at the age of 69 due to Obstructive Sleep Apnea. he was admitted to Mumbai’s CritiCare Hospital.
- Bappi Lahiri worked to the soundtrack of Bollywood movies in the 80s and 90s (Disco Dancer, Namak Halaal, Dance Dance, Sharaabi and more).
- He also contributed with Bengali films like Amar Prem, Mandira, Badnam, Aamar Tumi among others.
- Bappi Lahiri received Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award at the 63rd Filmfare Awards in 2018.
- In 2014, Bappi Lahiri joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
- The real name Bappi Lahiri was Alokesh Lahiri.
