Shaheed Mahendra Karma Tendupatta Sangrahak Samajik Suraksha Yojana
The Chief Minister (CM) of Chhattisgarh State Shri Bhupesh Baghel Ji has initiated a social security Yojana named “Shaheed Mahendra Karma Tendupatta Sangrahak Samajik Suraksha Yojana”. this scheme is for tendu leaves collectors and covers more than 10 lakh families from tribals and forest dwellers.
Tendu leaves: this is used to make bidis also called leaf-wrapped cigarettes and leaves are collected by forest dwellers and they sell to state govt.

Who is Mahendra Karma: he is known as Bastar tiger for his a tough stand against Naxals. he died in a Naxal attack on 25th MAy 2013.

The Chhattisgarh forest department will run this scheme with the help of Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce (Trading and Development) Co-operative Federation Ltd (CGMFPFED).
Benefits –
In a case when Family Head dies then his/her family will be given 2 lakh rupees to nominee but, the dead person should be up to 50 years of age.
If a person gets a permanent disability in the accident then he/she will get 2 lakh rupees financial assistance and if the partial disability is there then he/she will get 1 lakh rupees financial assistance.

family head (50 and 59 years) – nominee will be given Rs 30,000 in case of his/her normal death and in case of accidental death, the nominee will be given 75,000 rupees.
