PM Modi inaugurated Kochi-Mangaluru natural gas pipeline
On 5th January 2021, PM Modi is going to inaugurate Kochi-Mangaluru natural gas pipeline. it can be a milestone towards the creation of ‘One Nation One Gas Grid’.

Objective:
- The pipeline will help in supplying affordable and environment-friendly fuel in the form of Piped Natural gas (PNG) to the households and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).
- It will also supply Natural Gas to industrial and commercial units across the districts.
Key Details
- GAIL (India) Ltd has built the natural gas pipeline and the length of the natural gas pipeline is 450 km.
- It has 12 Million Metric Standard Cubic Meters per day transportation capacity
- The pipeline will be for Liquified Natural Gas Regasification Terminal at Kochi in the state of Kerala to Mangaluru in Karnataka.
- it will also go through Thrissur, Ernakulam, Malappuram, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Kasaragod, and Kannur districts.
- Rs 3,000 crores have been spent on this project and it created more than 12-lakh man-days of employment.
