The Otago Coursework Master’s Scholarship is given to students to support the coursework-based Master’s program at the University of Otago. Students must be first-time for a coursework master’s program at the University of Otago. It will be available for both domestic and international students.
- Students will be provided the amount of 10,000 NZD to cover the tuition fee of the intended program.

Eligibility Criteria
Students must meet the eligibility requirements listed below:
- Must apply for a full-time master’s degree as a first-year student.
- Must be interested in enrolling for a master’s degree excluding the thesis option or;
- Must choose either a research report or dissertation in the master’s with a thesis option too.
University of Otago International Master’s Research Scholarship
Application Process
The University of Otago Scholarships Committee shall consider the following factors in recommending the award of the Scholarship:
- Applicant’s academic record;
- Advice, recommendation and ranking of the relevant Head of Department or nominee.
Selection Process
Students must submit an application form. For applicants yet to enrol in their preferred degree, they must attend their application for admission to the degree. For applicants selecting a research report or dissertation option after initial study, application must be made directly to the University of Otago Doctoral and Scholarships Office, after results from initial Master’s papers are received, and no later than one month after starting the dissertation or research report component of their degree.
