Ontario Trillium Scholarship 2024 – To help international students pursue a PhD degree, The govt of Ontario started an initiative called the “Ontario Trillium Scholarship” at one of the top universities in Ontario. eligible universities in Ontario choose candidates to offer scholarships on the basis of program criteria, aimed at supporting their education and academic development in the Canadian province.

The Ontario Trillium Scholarships (OTS) is a program and is a provincially-funded initiative to attract the best-qualified international students to Ontario for doctoral research studies. every year, around 15 Trillium Scholarships for doctoral research students are awarded at the University of Toronto.

Ontario Trillium Scholarship

• Each year, An amount of $40,000 (CAD) will be awarded to the best doctoral students from across the globe.
• The program can be renewed for up to 4 years.
• Candidates who pursue a PhD in any discipline at Ontario’s top universities will be given scholarships with partial funding.
• Funding will be shared in a government-institution ratio of 2:1 (CAD 26,666 from the government and CAD 13,333 from the institution).

Ontario Trillium Scholarship 2024 – Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have to meet the Eligibility Criteria to take Ontario Trillium Scholarship, as follows

• You must be an international student.
• You Must have a valid Canadian student visa.
• Should be proficient in English when you are filling out the application.
• Enroll in a doctoral-level, full-time degree-granting graduate program.
• You must not have other Canadian Scholarships including the Queen Elizabeth II Graduate Scholarship in Science and Technology (QEII-GSST), UW Provost Graduate Scholarship.
• Applicants must not be taking advantage of other Government scholarships.
• You should not have completed a UG or PG degree at any university/ college in Ontario immediately before applying

Applicants must have the following required documents to apply for the Ontario Trillium Scholarship:

• Filled application form
• A copy of all the university transcripts
• A valid Canadian study permit Visa
• A copy of the applicant’s average calculation
• Proof of standardized tests such as IELTS, SAT, etc.
• Applicants’ plan of studies
• The OTS letter of support from an authorized supervisor
• Proof of good health
• Applicants’s letters of recommendation
• A list of the applicant’s research contributions
• A list of awards and scholarships received by the applicant
• Applicant’s CV
