MoF sets up a Six-Member Committee to Boost Investments in Venture Capital/Private Equity

MoF sets up a Six-Member Committee to Boost Investments in Venture Capital/Private Equity – The Finance Ministry has formed a high-level panel to look into issues being faced by venture capital (VC) and private equity (PE) investors. the panel will be headed by former Sebi chairman M Damodaran.

  • The committee will have 6 members and will suggest steps for scaling up investment by VC and PE funds.
  • Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced to form of an expert committee to examine and suggest appropriate measures related to venture capital and private equity in Budget 2022-23.
  • The panel will also review issues, and compliances and will provide suggestions for simplifications and changes around further accelerating the growth of alternative capital to participate in the VC/PE industry.
