  • The Chief Minister of West Bengal has started off a new scheme named as ‘Matir Smristi’ to take the advantages of 50,000 acres of barren land in 6 districts. Matir Smristi Yojana will ensure to make income activities in horticulture and pisciculture involving the locals. under this Yojana, nearly 2.5 lakh people of rural Bengal will be got benefits.
  • In West Bengal’s Birbhum, Purulia, Bankura, Jhargram, West Burdwan and West Midnapore districts are having at least 50,000 acres of barren land. these barren land is unbale to produce anything naturally and it is possible for farmers to cultivate on the strip.
