M Karunanidhi: Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu

Muthuvel Karunanidhi (Dakshinamurthy) was known as an Indian writer and he was also a politician who had served as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for around two decades over five terms from 1969 to 2011. He was popularly known as “Kalaignar” and “Mutthamizh Arignar” for his contributions to Tamil literature.

Born: 3 June 1924, Thirukkuvalai
Died: 7 August 2018, Kauvery Hospital

politicial Career:

  • He had served as the 3rd Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
  • He also served as the President of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam a political party based in Tamil Nadu.
  • In 1969, He was elected as Chief Minister for the first time and he also became the Chief Minister for the fifth time.
  • He founded the “youth revitalized the organization” to help young people to develop their inspiration and writing. later, it was converted as a state-level “All Students Club”.
