The Indian Govt has published the Intellectual Property India annual report 2020. the report has been published by the Office of Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks.

Important Points –

  • As per the Report, 27 Indian Institute of Technology (IIT’s) has registered 557 patents.
  • Chandigarh University Gharuan gets the top spot in the list and in a year, it filed the highest number of a patent with 336. Followed by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) which filed 239 patent applications.
  • Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) got the 3rd spot with 202 applications.
  • Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) received the 4th spot and filed 173 patent applications.
