Indian Navy received 4th Scorpene Submarine named ‘Vela’

Indian Navy has received the 4th Scorpene submarine of the Project-75, Yard 11878 on 9th November 2021 and it will be commissioned as INS (Indian Naval Ship) Vela.

  • INS (Indian Naval Ship) Vela has been designed by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) Mumbai (Maharashtra) with the help of M/s Naval Group, France.
  • At present, three submarines under Project-75 are providing their services with the Indian Navy viz. INS Karanj, INS Kalvari, and INS Khanderi.
