Himachal Pradesh state to look for GIs for Native Products
The state Govt of Himachal Pradesh (HP) is looking for earning GI (Geographical Indication) labels. the govt wants GI for five products from the state. the products are Karsog Kulth, Thani of Pangi, Chamba Metal Crafts, Chamba Chukh and Rajmah of Bharmour.
Karsog Kulth – it is called as Kulthi or Kulth (horse gram) and is a legume grown type as Kharif crop in the state. it contains amino acids.
Pangi ki Thangi – it is a hazelnut and it is grown in Pangi Valley of the HP state. it is known for special flavour and sweetness in the country.
Chamba Metal Crafts – it is formed by idol craftsmen and copper utensils.
