Global Day of Parents 2023: Theme, History and Significance – Every year, The Global Day of Parents is celebrated on 1 June to highlight the important role of parents in the lives of their children. With the purpose of creating awareness about the rights and responsibilities of parents and the significance of parental care, The day was first designated by the UN General Assembly in 2012.

Global Day of Parents 2023: History

  • In the year 2012, The UN General Assembly decided to celebrate Global Day Parents with a resolution and honour parents across the world.
  • however, this day is celebrated on different dates in different countries for eg. USA celebrate it on the 4th Sunday of June, South Korea (8 May) and so on.

  • The Global Day of Parents 2023 theme is yet to be announced.
  • The theme for Global Parent Day 2022 is ‘Family Awareness’,
  • The 2021 Global Day of Parents theme is ‘Appreciate all parents throughout the world’.
  • The theme for the 2020 Global Day of Parents was  Appreciate all parents throughout the world. ‘
  • The theme for the 2019 Global Day of Parents was “Honor Your Parents!”
