EKI lists India’s plastic project under global accreditation standard – Carbon credit developer and supplier EKI Energy Services (EKI) has listed India’s plastic project under a global accreditation standard and has become the company to do this to generate India’s first-ever international plastic credits.
- The project was listed under the Plastic Waste Reduction Standard of Verra — a Washington-based accreditation.
India’s plastic project
- Under India’s plastic project, predominantly Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) waste, PET flakes and chips are recycled to produce Recycled Polyester Staple Fibre (RPSF).
- Later, recycled waste is used in the textile industry for garments and other fabric-based utility products.
