Rajya Sabha passes Offshore Areas Mineral (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill 2023
- Rajya Sabha passed the Offshore Areas Mineral (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill 2023 on August 3rd, 2023. The bill aims to amend the Offshore Areas Mineral (Development and Regulation) Act, of 2002. it will help in regulating mining in maritime zones of India. The give will have rights to reserve offshore areas that are not held under any operating rights.
Govt to launch e-CARe website for families of Indians who die abroad.
- The Union government will launch a Portal called e-CARe (e-Clearance for Interlife Remains) on August 3rd, 2023, to facilitate the speedy repatriation of bodies of Indians who die abroad. e-CARe stands for e-Clearance for Interlife Remains and aims to avoid the delay in transporting dead human bodies to the international borders and take them to their native land through appropriate measures and hand over their bodies to their families.
Draupadi Murmu inaugurated Folk and Tribal Arts Program and International Literary Festival in Madhya Pradesh.
- The President of India Draupadi Murmu inaugurated the National Festival of India’s Tribal and Folk Peoples “Utkarsh” and the International Literary Festival “Unmesh” in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
- the program is being conducted by the State Sangeet Natak Akademi Organization and the Madhya Pradesh State Department of Culture and Sahitya Akademi between August 3rd and August 5th, 2023.
NHAI launches a mobile app called Rajmarkyatra.
- The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) launched “Rajmargyatra“, an integrated public and pedestrian-centric mobile application, in August 2023. Gujarat state government and GE Power India Contract worth of Rs 440 crore.
- The Gujarat State Electricity Board and GE Power India signed an MoU on August 02, 2023, aimed at meeting the electricity demand of the state worth Rs.440 crore and easing electricity restrictions and providing uninterrupted power across the state.
- The MoU will cover the necessary production equipment, design, engineering, manufacturing, high-fitting and PG testing by January 2026.
Assam launched a Portal called “Amrit Brikshya Andolan” to plant 1 crore saplings in a single day
- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa launched a website and mobile app “Amrit Brikshya Andolan”, an initiative. It aims to plant a total of 1 crore commercial and viable saplings across Assam with the participation of social activists and the general public, with a song on the theme.
