Mahatma Gandhi 75th death anniversary

The day of 30th January is observed as Martyr’s Day or Shaheed Diwas annually. it highlights the memory of Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated by Nathuram Godse on 30th January 1948. he is known as the ‘Father of Nation’. A two-minute silence in memory of Indian martyrs is seen across the country at 11 AM. 

  • The Prime Minister tweeted; “I bow to Bapu on his Punya Tithi and recall his profound thoughts. I also pay homage to all those who have been martyred in the service of our nation. Their sacrifices will never be forgotten and will keep strengthening our resolve to work for a developed India.”

G-20 International Financial Architecture Working Group Meeting

The first International Financial Architecture Working Group meeting of G-20 under the chairmanship of India will be held in Chandigarh between 30 and 31 January 2023. Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar and Food Processing Industries Minister Shri Pashupati Kumar Paras will inaugurate the meeting.

  • It will discuss ways to enhance the stability and cohesion of international financial architecture and how to make it capable of addressing the global challenges of the 21st century.
  • It will pay attention to finding ways to maximize aid to poor and vulnerable countries.

Ministry of Education releases All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) 2020-2021

The Ministry of Education, Government of India released the All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) 2020-2021. The Ministry has been conducting the All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) since 2011. the Survey covers all higher educational institutions located in Indian Territory and imparting higher education in the country.

  • It also collects detailed information on different parameters such as student enrollment, teacher data, infrastructural information, financial information etc.
  • For the first time, in AISHE 2020-21, HEIs filled data using an entirely online data collection platform via the Web Data Capture Format (DCF) developed by the Department of Higher Education through the National Informatics Centre (NIC).

Sri Lankans to celebrate 75th anniversary of Independence on February 4th

Sri Lankan will celebrate the 75th anniversary of its Independence on February 4th, 2023. The Security Forces and the police commenced rehearsals for the Independence Day Parade on Saturday at the Galle Face Green. the ceremony will be held with the usual pomp and pageantry but at a minimal cost.

Odisha Minister Shot In The Chest By Cop Dies Hours Later At Hospital

Odisha Health Minister Naba Das was shot by a policeman during an event in the Jharsuguda district on 29th January 2023. Naba Kishore Das was shot by an assistant sub-inspector of police in the Jharsuguda district. He breathed his last at Apollo Hospital in Bhubaneswar.
