Wagner Chief Yevgeny Prigozhin killed in plane crash in Russia
The leader of the Wagner mercenary group Yevgeny Prigozhin died in a plane crash. He led a brief armed rebellion against the Russian military. Prigozhin was one of the 10 passengers aboard the plane that crashed north of Moscow. The plane from Moscow to St. Petersburg crashed in the Tver Region killing all the passengers including three pilots.
- In June 2023, Prigozhin led a short-lived armed rebellion against Russia’s military leadership.
- It was seen as the biggest challenge ever to President Vladimir Putin’s authority since he came to power.

Indian shooter Amanpreet Singh received the gold medal in the Men’s 25-metre standard pistol shooting event at the ISSF World Championship 2023 in Baku, Azerbaijan. In the Women’s 25 meter Standard Pistol shooting event, while Tiyana, Yashita Shokeen, and Kritika Sharma could not win the medal round in the individual competition, they managed to win the team bronze with a combined score of 1601.

Arunachal Pradesh League has been launched in New Delhi. The League will be held on the 8th of September and will conclude on the 16th of October 2023. it will feature five teams playing 13 matches.

In shooting, Rajeshwari Kumari secured another shooting spot for India in the Paris 2024 Olympics. She ended 5th in the women’s trap final at the ISSF World Championship 2023 in Baku, Azerbaijan, and won India’s first spot in the women’s trap event.
