Union Agriculture Minister Shri Tomar inaugurates the Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela

Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shri Narendra Singh Tomar will inaugurate the Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela, organized every year by the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI). Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela will be held in New Delhi from 2 to 4 March 2023. the theme of the fair is “Nutrition, Food and Environmental Protection with Shree Anna”.

India Tops World In Internet Shutdowns, 5th Time In A Row

India topped the list for the fifth successive year for imposing by far the highest number of internet shutdowns in the world in 2022, internet advocacy watchdog Access Now said. Out of 187 internet shutdowns globally registered by Access Now, 84 took place in India, including 49 in Jammu and Kashmir.

Karnataka launched ‘Stop Tobacco’ app to curb public smoking

Karnataka government’s State Tobacco Control Cell (STCC) launched a specific app called the ‘Stop Tobacco’ app on February 28th, 2023, aimed at allowing users to take a photo of smoking persons in public places and also upload pictures of those smoking persons then they will be fined.

8th Edition of Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi

The 8th Edition of the Raisina Dialogue will be held from 2nd March 2023 and will continue till 4th March in New Delhi. The theme of the 2023 Edition of Dialogue is “Provocation, Uncertainty, Turbulence: Lighthouse in the Tempest. 

  • The Raisina Dialogue is India’s flagship conference on geopolitics and geo-strategy.

Rajesh Malhotra Is New Principal Director General Of Press Information Bureau

Senior Indian Information Service (IIS) officer Rajesh Malhotra has been appointed as the Principal Director General of the Press Information Bureau. he succeeds Satyendra Prakash, who superannuated on 28th February 2023.

  • Malhotra is a 1989 batch officer and was elevated to a higher grade of IIS in June 2022.
  • He was also appointed as the Principal Director General of the Central Bureau of Communication.
  • The Information and Broadcasting Ministry also named Priya Kumar as the Director General of Doordarshan News (DD News) and succeeds Mayank Agrawal.
  • She will also look after the charge of the Director General, DD News with effect from March 1, 2023 and until further orders.

Actor-turned-politician and BJP leader Khushbu Sundar was nominated as a member of the National Commission for Women (NCW). Sundar is a member of the BJP’s national executive committee.

Vice Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi Takes Over As Western Naval Command Chief

Vice Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi took charge as Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (FOC-in-C) of the Mumbai-headquartered Western Naval Command (WNC) and succeeds Vice Admiral Ajendra Bahadur Singh who retired from service.

  • Vice Admiral Tripathi served as the Chief of Personnel at the Integrated Headquarters of the Ministry of Defence (Navy).
  • He is An alumnus of Sainik School Rewa and National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, he was commissioned into the Indian Navy on July 1, 1985.
