Congress leader and former Union minister Oscar Fernandes Dies at 80
The former Union minister and senior Congress leader Shri Oscar Fernandes has passed away at the age of 80 at a private hospital in Mangaluru. He was suffered a fall while exercising and he was being treated by the doctors at a private hospital in Mangaluru.
- During Manmohan Singh’s Govt, Fernandes has served as the Union Cabinet Minister for Transport, Road and Highways, and Labour and Employment.
- Fernandes also served the Lok Sabha for five terms and was the sitting member of the Rajya Sabha in his third term.
